Biological treatment is generally the process of breaking down organic pollutants dissolved in wastewater by living organisms.
Pollutants in wastewater are broken down by microorganisms and turned into carbon dioxide and water. At the end of the shredding process, the cleaned wastewater remains at the top, while microorganisms sink to the bottom. This system is also called activated sludge system. The most common biological treatment system used in our country is activated sludge.
